The Region's Mission

To energize and connect congregations to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

We accomplish this mission by equipping congregations to:

  • promote health and growth,
  • cultivate spiritual formation and discipleship,
  • call out and develop passionate leaders,
  • plant new congregations, and
  • claim God's unique mission for them.

the Region's Ministry

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indiana is one of 33 regional (middle judicatory) offices of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada, serving 185 Disciples congregations, over 450 clergy and more than 35,000 members in Indiana. The Region helps congregations live out their unique call to mission and ministry through a variety of resources and services.

The ministry and support staff work to build up ministry in local churches and to support and encourage church leaders.

the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

On the American frontier in the early 19th century, a movement was born to restore unity to the church of Jesus Christ by returning to the faith and practice of the New Testament. Led by Thomas and Alexander Campbell in Pennsylvania and by Barton W. Stone in Kentucky, this Restoration Movement became the foundation for what would eventually become the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). (Read more about the basic beliefs of the Disciples.)
