Rick
Spleth joined the staff as Regional Minister on September 1, 2001. His duties
include pastoral oversight for congregational and regional ministries and serves
as the chief executive officer of the region. As regional minister, Rick works
with Search and Call, Regional Board, and Interim Ministry. He also works with
the Finance Committee, Nominating Committee, and the Reference and Counsel Team
of the Commission on Ministry.
He also serves as liaison to the General
Church in several capacities, including: General Board, College
of Regional Ministers, Christian Theological Seminary Board of
Trustees, Disciples of Christ-United Church of Christ Dialogue
Team, National City Christian Church Foundation Board, and the
Council for Theological Education.
Rick has a B.A. from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth,
and an M.Div. from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Rick and his wife, Diane,
have two adult children, Doug Booher of Bloomington, Indiana, and Beth Ann Blunk,
of Indianapolis. He and Diane also have one grandchild, Jacob Hillman.
Carolyn
Reed began her ministry on May 10, 1999. She works with the Indiana Youth Commission, Camp/Conference, and the Congregational
Transformation Team as well as with churches in the Northern Lights, Dunes, Four Rivers, White River Valley, Stonebelt, KDA and Southeastern areas.
Carolyn has a B.A. from The University of Indianapolis and an M.Div. from Christian Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Bill, have two children, Ryan and Zachary.
Dean Phelps began his ministry as Director of Church Multiplication with the Christian Church in Indiana on September 1, 2005. He coaches new congregations and church planters, helps develop leadership for new congregations and works to create an environment for growth through the starting of new congregations throughout the Region.
He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Kennesaw State University and earned the M.Div. from Emory University's Candler School of Theology. He also holds a M.S. in organizational behavior and development from Georgia State University. He is married to Debbie.
Becki Nunnally joined the staff in 2005 as Minister to Commission on the Ministry. In this position, she works with the Commission on Ministry and its several teams and committees. She received a B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University and an M.Div from Brite Divinity School and is married to Dr. Gary Nunnally. They have two children: Greg and Angie.
Becki also serves Christian Theological Seminary as Project
Manager for the Lilly Endowment funded Perr Group Study Program.
Cheryl Cloar
initially joined the staff as a ministry intern in May 2007 on a one-year internship.
She then joined the ministerial staff in 2008.
Cheryl works as the primary staff resource to the Ecumenical Ministries Commission and the Reconciliation / Community and Global Concerns Commission.
SHe is also staff resource to the Indiana Commission for Women. Cheryl
graduated with an M.Div. from Christian Theological Seminary in May 2008. She resides in Martinsville with her husband, Alan, and their two children.
