Managing and Reporting of Congregational Finances
A Workshop for Faithful and Careful Financial Oversight

On Saturday, April 12, the Christian Church in Indiana will hold a workshop for congregational treasurers and others responsible for managing the finances of a local congregation, including board chairs, clergy, financial secretaries, and members of stewardship/finance committees.
The event will be held at Light of the World Christian Church, Indianapolis, Indiana, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registration cost, including lunch and materials, will be $25.00.
Leaders:
- Rev. Jim Keown, retired executive from Church Extension, and chair of the Region's Stewardship and Development Commission
- Dr. Calvin Porter, Professor Emeritus of Christian Theological Seminary, and a member of the commission
Topics to be covered:
- Basics of accounting
- Payroll, taxes, benefits
- Management principles and practices
- Reporting financial information
- Budgeting
- Security practices
Both those new to this important responsibility and those who are veterans of many years will have something to gain, and to share, at this event.
Congregations who send multiple persons will benefit most for the opportunity to compare notes and ideas.
